Wednesday, December 21, 2011

LANSING--State Sen. Howard Walker (left), R-Traverse City, and Gov. Rick Snyder hold Senate Bill 509, sponsored by Walker.

Snyder on Wednesday signed into law SBs 508 – 510, establishing the Great Lakes Basin Aquatic Invasive Species Advisory Council. The council will help protect the state from an ecological catastrophe from aquatic invasive species and help prevent millions of dollars in lost revenue.

Walker was the lead sponsor of the bills, which are now Public Acts 284 – 286 of 2011.
