LANSING –Senator Bruce Caswell is pleased to announce that the Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) approved a rural MEGA tax credit today for the Metalloid Corporation for its planned facility in Sturgis. Metalloid will receive $227,898 in tax credits over a five-year period. The company plans to establish a new manufacturing operation in Sturgis, generating an estimated 30 new jobs in the area. Metalloid decided to locate its first Michigan facility in Sturgis, having chosen it over other possible sites in Indiana and Texas.
“I welcome Metalloid to Sturgis and look forward to hearing of their success in coming years,” said Caswell. “I applaud the company for investing in Michigan over other states. The jobs that Metalloid will create will help to spur further investment within St. Joseph County, while creating supporting jobs elsewhere throughout our state.”
Metalloid Corporation is based in Huntington, Indiana and makes metalworking fluids for the automotive and manufacturing industries.
